OUR TRANSPORT POLICY

"Commercial" bus services are planned and provided by bus companies, which are responsible for the routes, times and fares charged. "Contracted" services are run by bus companies to service specifications set by Herefordshire Council. Contracted services are only provided where no suitable commercial service exists. They are identified in timetables as being "subsidised by Herefordshire Council" with the symbol:-

Herefordshire Council is trying to make it easier for everyone to use bus services by making additional contract payments to bus operators to provide modern, low-floor buses. Services that are usually operated by low-floor accessible buses are identified in the appropriate timetable headings by the use of the symbol:-
